Sunday 19 September

Open Doors Sunday

Open Doors Sunday Kids is designed to introduce the concept of persecution to children between the ages of 5 and 12. The program has four distinct sections, each designed to introduce children to an aspect of faith. If played from start to finish, Open Doors Sunday Kids, will run for around 15 minutes, however we would encourage you to pause the program to complete the activities that are introduced (video time-codes are provided below the video).

Tim & Sarah (0:34)

A story of two children who attend church in two very different situations. This story introduces the idea of persecution and living for Jesus in another country.

Memory Verse: Matthew 22:37 (4:55)

Encouraging kids to memorise God’s word and love Him with their heart, mind and soul.

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.”

Craft: Colouring Sheet (8:51)

A colouring in sheet with the Matthew 22:37 memory verse and an illustration of a child from the persecuted church.

Hero of the Week: A Persecuted Child (11:34)

Hear the story of Susan, who refused to deny Jesus even when locked in her room for three months. This story completes our program by telling children about a brave Christian who followed Jesus, no matter the cost.

We hope these resources are helpful in teaching your children about the persecuted church, who share our faith but not our freedoms.
